The Other Half Marathon - Moab

The Salt Lake crew kicked butt at Moab's The Other Half Marathon this past October.  Great time to be in the desert before winter hit.  Of course, Aaron, my mom and Grace were super fans.  Grace and Grannie Annie were always on the move, expected when you combine a one-year-old and an art teacher, ha.

Grace's 1st Birthday Bash

Grace turned one on September 15th, and a grand celebration was in order.  You know, a picnic style backyard pizza party can't be beat.
Tiana shows up with a red nose.  Is she a clown, is she Rudolph, no it's Tiana.

Girls are ready to open some presents, Captain Delirious catches all the action on video.

Proud grandpa and a kiss for the birthday girl.

Say Cheese!

Where's the smile.

Grace isn't sure what is more exciting, the presents, the party dresses or playing with the big girls.

Always time to throw in a wave.

Max and Maggie helping out.

This party's a wrap, thanks so much for coming.  Whewww, I'm no longer zero.

Fall's in the air

Hikes these days are less frequent than ever before and on this particular day, our hike lasted 1 hour.  With that said, the short hike was refreshing and very rewarding to get outside with the ladies.  Apologies in advance for so many photos with of the plaid.

One last laugh with little Grace on the Great Western Trail.

West Fork of the Black

Labor day weekend we managed to leave most of the crowds behind in one of the few, East-West facing mountain ranges in the US, the Uintas.  Jonathon made the trip out to fish this storied bend in the West Fork of the Blacks.

Apparently the fishing wasn't too hot as we had to resort to meat on a stick.  While not the traditional way to cook over a fire, I highly recommend this old school way of smoking out your meat.  The meal certainly didn't disappoint.

Mr. Hart, thanks for making the trip out to Utah again as we keep the late summer camping trip tradition alive.

Tour of Utah Prologue

In early August I had the opportunity to race in the Tour of Utah with Nathan.  Well sort of, as 10 amateurs were invited to race the prologue at the Utah Olympic Park just minutes before the pros.  It was an amazing experience, one that I tried to keep my eyes open the whole time because I knew it would be the world's fastest bike race.  Sure enough, the 1.3 mile, 600 foot, 7% grade was over in 6 minutes.  I ended up landing a 3rd place finish among the amateurs, although got smoked by the winning pro by 2 minutes.  At the end of the day it was one of the cooler sporting experiences that I have been involved with.  Thanks, thanks, thanks to Beth and Jill for the support.
Nathan getting down with all the hype.

Tangled up in the Oregon Summer

We just returned from a trip back to the homeland.  Brice and Sam tied the knot.  The wedding was absolutely stunning and a long week presented a much needed break a busy life, a time when old and new friends could cross paths.  There was a softball game, plenty of golf (sorry Beth), Lovejoy the photographer, the BIG Timer, TO, a best man speech, a beautiful wedding couple and of course, Pienovi, Cooper and Big Al.  The Oregon summer is a hard one to beat, with day temps in the low 80s and nights dropping into the 40s.  On top of it all it was pretty rewarding to take my daughter back the the NorthWest.

Kyle and Grace discussing the finer points of life over a soda.  Shortly thereafter, a huge Gluten Free pizza was served.

Uncle Brice and Auntie Sam hanging out with G at the Hart's 4th of July Q.

Playing at the infamous Grant Park.

Rehearsal dinner with Black Butte in the background.  Look at my mom pulling off the 70s with style.

Big Al, Brice, Pienovi, and Cooper.

Mid day, wedding day photos.  I've never seen a meadow with so many turquoise dresses before.

Brice trying to catch up to his soon to be bride and turquoise beauties.

 All smiles after the wedding.

Grace, now known as lower case g, and my wife getting candid.

What else would you expect Cooper to be doing at the end of the reception?
